About Us

Busisiwe Mhlungu
Counselling Psychologist

I am a licensed Counselling Psychologist with a commitment to helping individuals manage mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, and Bipolar Disorder. My practice extends to bereavement counselling, trauma therapy, and day-to-day challenges requiring psychological support. Since becoming a licensed psychologist in 2018, I have worked with adolescents and adults alike to help them lead healthier, more fulfilling lives.

I proudly serve as the first Black psychologist at Jeppe High School for Girls in Kensington, where I provide mental health services to students. Additionally, I run a private practice in Soweto, and I am passionate about mental health advocacy. I am the resident psychologist on both the Alpha Female podcast and 5FM’s Sunday afternoon show with DJ Boipelo Mooketsi, where I share insights into mental health issues affecting modern society.

I hold a B.Psych Honours degree from Midrand Graduate Institute and an M.Psych in Counselling Psychology from Pearson Institute of Higher Education. My focus is on expanding access to psycho-education, particularly in under-resourced communities like Soweto.
